"I thought I'd heard every dumb move around cars (and made
more than a few myself), but here's the topper. I was at
the only wrecker in town that specializes in Brit stuff,
and in the driveway was a very nice XJ 6 Sovereign, with no
plates. Very nice indeed, too nice to be at a wreckers.
''What's the story on that?'' I asked.
''The owner was getting the oil changed at one of those
FastLube places, and they'd drained it when he got into an
argument with the worker, so he told the worker to lower
the hoist and he drove the car away - without any oil in
it. I got it for $1500.''
Und der hier:
"Talking of Dumb Car things, a guy I knew at work decided to tow his
wifes car by attaching the tow rope to the right rear shock
absorber of his own car. To add insult to injury, his wife left the
handbrake on - he was not used to towing and ''took up the strain''
on the rope at a slightly higher speed than he should have. You can
probably guess the rest - Lets just say that after that, two tow
trucks were required! "
